Dr. Todd George is a licensed clinical psychologist in the State of Georgia with training and experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and neurodevelopmental disorders. Dr. George graduated from Brevard College with a B.A. in Wilderness Leadership and Experiential Education, followed by his M.Ed. from Clemson University in Counselor Education. He earned his Doctorate of Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from the University of Indianapolis with a concentration in Child and Adolescent Psychology. Dr. George completed his APA-approved doctoral internship through Astor Services for Children and Families in upstate New York, where he also was a guest lecturer on residential treatment for child and adolescent populations at Bard College.

Dr. George has provided psychotherapy and assessment in a variety of clinical settings, including residential child and adolescent treatment facilities, schools, community mental health centers, hospital-based outpatient programs, an adult inpatient program, a neonatal clinic, and private practice. He also has experience in research, program development, and training within the adventure therapy and outdoor behavioral healthcare industries. He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Georgia Psychological Association (GPA) and an individual affiliate of the National Association for Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP).

Beyond providing assessment and treatment for mental health and neurodevelopmental disorders, Dr. George specializes in psychological evaluations, including psychoeducational, psychosexual, and parental fitness evaluations. With his research and experience in the outdoor behavioral healthcare industry, including wilderness therapy, therapeutic boarding school, and private residential treatment, his clinical work focuses on providing psychological services for children, adolescents, and families who are considering, or recently engaged, in private residential and/or outdoor behavioral healthcare treatment. These services range from consultation with parents about residential treatment and wilderness therapy programs, to help determine the most appropriate level of care for their child, to psychological and psychoeducational evaluations of children and adolescents prior to, or during, their therapeutic placement. Dr. George also provides follow-up and transition psychotherapy for children and adolescents returning to the Atlanta metro area from therapeutic placements, to help maintain treatment gains and enhance family functioning.
