Way Out Foundation Autism Conference
Voronezh, Russia
Oct. 6-8, 2016

I was invited to speak at a conference in Voronezh, Russia. They that I was a part of the Georgia Psychological Association in my title! Here are the talks I gave:

1) Early Detection and Assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorder

The early detection and assessment of autism spectrum disorders allows for critical early intervention services. Autism spectrum disorder diagnostic criteria consist of differences in the areas of social communication as well as restricted, repetitive behaviors. Video examples will highlight key symptoms and differences associated with autism and its assessment. Assessment tools for universal screening as well as for diagnostic purposes will be discussed.

2) Using Telehealth To Help Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders

Telehealth can be a beneficial tool to increase access to assessment and treatment for children with autism spectrum disorders. Telehealth will be defined and a brief history of telehealth will be provided. A case model will be presented to demonstrate how various modes of telehealth are used for assessment and treatment at the Marcus Autism Center. Considerations for a successful telehealth practice will be discussed.
