How do otherwise well-respected and admired psychologists get themselves into difficulties? What are some of the common cognitive and emotional factors involved in our decision-making? How do we best care for ourselves, our peers and others? This workshop will identify positive steps we can take to maintain our professional and personal ethics. We will utilize small group discussions, self-assessments, journaling and intentionality to create a self-care plan that will enhance our ethical decision-making resources.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will discuss the differences between risk management, legal, clinical and ethical decisions.
  2. Participants will identify and describe 5 factors that influence ethical decision-making.
  3. Participants will develop a plan for self-care that will increase the resources available to them and enhance decision-making strategies.
