Red Cross Disaster Mental Health Webinar: 

How We Can Help; What We Need to Know

 

DO YOU WANT TO HELP DISASTER VICTIMS? DO YOU ENJOY WORKING COLLABORATIVELY WITH OTHER VOLUNTEERS? WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP IN YOUR LOCAL COMMUNITY OR NATIONALLY? (You get to travel the Red Cross way with all costs covered by Red Cross)

         

This hour-long Webinar will describe how the Red Cross operates in a disaster and what roles and contributions we can make as Disaster Mental Health Volunteers.  As this is one of the required classes, this Webinar can be used as one of the on-line classes to become a Red Cross Disaster Mental Health volunteer.

Presenter:

 

Dr. Gard has worked with the American Red Cross for over 29 years in disaster preparedness, disaster response and recovery.  She has presented internationally and served in helping traumatized populations around the world.  She served, as been a mental health consultant to the International Rescue Committee from 2015-2018 and has been Co-Lead of the APA supported Refugee Mental Health Network Data Base.

In this capacity, she has presented and/or help support 8 Webinars presented nationally sponsored by the American Psychological Association’s Division of Trauma (Division 56).
