Workshop Description:

Two of the common factors across all successful approaches to couples therapy are (1) systemic thinking and (2) interrupting negative cycles. This workshop demonstrates an efficient, user-friendly method to guide these two tasks. By understanding a couple’s Fear Cycle – the worst combination of their fight-and-flight – we can help the couple shift to a Love Cycle that will feel so much better.

Learning Objectives

  1. List two common factors in all successful couples therapy.

  2. Draw the Woodsfellow model of a couple's Fear Cycle.

  3. Explain what is written on each arrow and each circle of this model.

  4. Diagram the Fear Cycle of one couple in your clinical practice.

      CE Hours: 3

      Level: Intermediate
